What is AskBetter?
AskBetter is a paid iOS app that helps you structure stronger prompts, then use them with your own AI provider or local endpoint.
How does AskBetter work?
You start with a rough need, the app fills in role, context, constraints, and output format, then you copy or send the final prompt into your provider flow.
Is AskBetter free?
No. AskBetter is a paid app. The app purchase covers the client only. AI usage, tokens, and provider subscriptions are separate.
Is my data safe and private?
AskBetter does not run a backend, proxy, or hosted AI service. Your provider keys stay on your device in iOS Keychain.
Do I need a ChatGPT account?
No. You do not need an AskBetter account. You only need whichever provider account or endpoint you choose to use.
Where are API keys stored?
API keys are stored locally in iOS Keychain. AskBetter does not see, resell, or process them on a separate server.
Can I save prompts and reuse them?
Yes. AskBetter is designed around reusable templates, saved prompts, and stronger prompt-first workflows.
Do prompts always start with “You are a...”?
That is the default structure in AskBetter because it creates a clearer expert role and usually improves first-pass output.
Can I use local AI models?
Yes. If your iPhone can reach your local or LAN endpoint, AskBetter can use it. For Ollama on a Mac, use the Mac LAN IP, not localhost.
